Our history
Our founder and president, Blake Newsom, recognized a problem that society wasn't addressing - homelessness in Tennessee. Determined to make a difference, he took it upon himself to find a solution. Blake's passion for helping others and his entrepreneurial spirit led him to create an organization dedicated to tackling this pressing issue. Through his hard work and dedication, he has made a significant impact on the lives of many homeless individuals in our state.
Blake's journey began with a simple realization - that homelessness was a complex problem that required a multifaceted approach. He understood that addressing the issue required not only providing shelter but also addressing the underlying causes of homelessness, such as unemployment, addiction, and mental health issues. This understanding led him to develop a comprehensive program that not only provides safe and secure housing but also offers support and resources to help individuals get back on their feet.

The new mission of Living the Dream Housing the Homeless Inc. Starting from August 1st, 2024, We have decided to expanded beyond just providing shelter to the homeless. Now, our new mission includes helping individuals in need find jobs, secure permanent housing, access free online classes, and obtain resources to enhance their quality of life. This shift in focus represents a holistic approach to addressing homelessness, tackling not only the immediate need for shelter but also the long-term goal of empowering individuals to rebuild their lives.
By helping the homeless find jobs, Living the Dream Housing the Homeless Inc. is addressing one of the root causes of homelessness - lack of stable income. Employment not only provides financial stability but also a sense of purpose and belonging. Additionally, by connecting individuals with permanent housing, the organization is creating a foundation for long-term stability and independence. Through free online classes, individuals can gain new skills and knowledge that will increase their employability and open up new opportunities for personal growth and development.

Our Free Online School of Success
Living the Dream Housing the Homeless Inc. offers the homeless in Tennessee, a free online School of Success. We are excited to offer these courses specifically for the homeless community in Tennessee. Our mission is to provide the homeless with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve financial stability and success.
Our free online school of success courses are designed to empower the homeless with the tools and knowledge necessary to take control of their finances and build a solid foundation for the future. We understand that financial success means different things to different people, and our goal is to help them define what it means to them personally and then provide guidance on how to achieve it.
Throughout these courses, we will cover a wide range of topics, including budgeting, saving, credit, debt management, investing, and more. We will provide practical tips and strategies that can immediately apply to their own situation. We believe in taking a holistic approach to success in life, so we will also discuss the importance of setting goals, managing stress, and developing healthy financial habits.
In order to provide a quality learning experience and ensure that all students receive the attention they need, we have made the decision to limit the enrollment in our School of Success courses to 10 students per instructor. We understand that this may be disappointing for some, but we believe that it is necessary to maintain a high level of instruction and support. By keeping the class sizes small, we can ensure that each student receives individualized attention and has the opportunity to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussions.
